This does not make me feel good about using Sprint. I was one of the first EVO 4G customers and 1.5 years later, though my phone is nearly obsolete, it’s still a workhorse and I really love the 4G coverage in Honolulu.

However, to think that Sprint might be logging nearly everything I do on my phone does not leave me with a very “warm and fuzzy” feeling inside. Will be interesting to see how this story develops. Could a class-action lawsuit come of this?

The fix is apparently in. Just the other day I was on Rick Hamada’s show (KHVH AM 830) and he asked me about the iPhone 4S problems. I told him there would be a fix right around the corner just based on my experience with these kinds of things. One day later, bam! It’s nice when pure predictions come true.

I know many Sprint customers who wanted an iPhone will be happy to know that they can have their unlimited cake for $79.99/mo. This includes 450 minutes. I’ve got a similar plan on Sprint (for my EVO 4G) and because this plan (of mine) has unlimited mobile to mobile minutes AND most of my phone calls are to other mobile phones, I’m usually way under my limit every month. It’s a great deal.

I’ve read other reports saying that Sprint “bet the farm” on the iPhone4s so good luck to them

Sprint will indeed offer unlimited

Apple is clearly the world’s greatest consumer electronics company and today’s unveiling of the new iPhone 4S keeps them on top of all the other players. Key features like full HD 1080p video recording, improved camera, and integration with “Siri” a futuristic gee-whiz feature that acts as a personal assistant to your voice. The demo shot here shows Siri helping me find a Greek restaurant which is pretty cool because I’m Greek! :)

Any installed app that has “Full Internet Access” permissions (which you would think is most if not all apps as they typically use a Net connection for their functionality) also has access to a lot what we might regard as private data including phone and sms log data (including phone numbers)

Many HTC phones have been identified as affected, including EVO 4G, EVO 3D, Thunderbolt, and Shift. Other HTC phones may be vulnerable too but that has not been confirmed. You can get in-depth technical information from “Android Police

Right now there is no patch or workaround. My recommendation is that you only install or run “name brand” apps that wouldn’t unnecessarily have an interest in violating your privacy
